President's XI vs. Lifemembers

The annual President's XI vs The Life Members is on this weekend.
Sunday 7th February @ 12pm , West Beach Primary School.
This is always a good event and we hope all members make the effort to come along and enjoy a fun game of cricket and some good company.
This is always a close game and tipping a tie is almost an even money bet.

BBQ hamburgers + sausages and a variety of drinks will be available courtesy of the Guardian Interlock mobile grill.

Winner of ABC Local Hero Competitionglenn_wbps_06.jpg

One of Keswick Cricket Club's favourites wins the ABC Grandstand's 'Local Hero' award.

Glenn McGowran was recently named the winner of the national award in a radio announcement during the Australia vs. West Indies test match.
The nomination was posted on the cricket australia website http://www.cricket.com.au/default.aspx?s=news-display&id=19877

The messenger also did a follow up story on Glenn's story which somehow made its way on to the front page!
The complete article can be read online at http://guardian-messenger.whereilive.com.au/news/story/glenn-s-got-a-mighty-heart/

Keswick is a blessed club to have members like Glenn. Well done and well deserved Junior!

Where are Keswick going this week?

Post game beers and banter will be at Skids place this round (9)

51 Carlisle St Camden Park is the address.

I must remind members that this is a home and respect is a must at all times! Make sure you keep the place tidy and use the bins provided. It is a generous offer by a member to open their house up to the club so make sure we do the right thing and then some.

Spook in number 200!

Easily Keswick's most pale passionate member Simon 'spook' Morris plays his 200th game for Keswick this round. His "effortless" drives  are a something his team mates have enjoyed watching over the years.
He is also of the most generous too giving lots of time and financial support to the club he loves.

Spook has made 4565 runs including 3 centuries with a top score of 149. Also a prolific wicket taker with his slingshotters,  Spook has 180 scalps to his name with career best figures of 6/42.

Well done Spook on a great achievement.
I will overlook the fact you didn't buy me a beer after Saturday's runout.

4000 Runs X2 !!

Both Colin 'hoppy' Hopkins and Guy 'hobbsy' Hobbs both passed the magical 4000 run last round. Both guys were actually at the crease together to bring up each of their individual milestones!  Hobbo smacked 32 to pass the milestone while Hoppy was the last dismissed in the innings for a fine captains knock of 91 to get his 4000th and his team over the line. Well done lads.
